Lao Tuk Luck Floating Market in Damnoen Saduak District, Ratchaburi Province, is a historic floating market located at the mouth of Lat Phli Canal. It was the very first floating market in the province. In the past, this place was once a bustling trading hub. Although it went through a quieter period, the market has now been revived and brought back to life once again. Today, it warmly welcomes visitors to experience the charm of a traditional floating market and learn about the community way of life in the past.

Today, Buddy is taking an electric long-tail boat (EV Boat) operated by the Wat Choti Thayakaram Community Enterprise. One of the best things about this electric boat is that it runs very quietly and is environmentally friendly. The journey begins at Wat Cho Boat Pier, cruising along Damnoen Saduak Canal. Along the way, we’ll stop at Lao Tuk Luck Floating Market, LOW HOURD SENG (The Royal Page’s House), and Wat Choti Thayakaram. To end the trip, we’ll join a fun herbal inhaler workshop.

We start our trip at Wat Cho Boat Pier. This community pier was built through the cooperation of local residents, who joined together to set up a community enterprise to offer boat tours.

Cruise along Damnoen Saduak Canal and stop by Lao Tuk Luck Floating Market. Buddy recommends visiting in the morning when the market is at its liveliest. With all the shops and food stalls open, it’s the perfect time to stroll around before the market starts to quiet down.

The market is filled with a variety of shops and food stalls. You can enjoy shopping for local goods or stop to sample some of the delicious treats along the way.

Next, visit the historic Ban Chek Hourd Mahatlek (LOW HOURD SENG), also known as The Royal Page’s House. This important site once welcomed King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) during his private river journey. It is a place rich in stories and historical value, reflecting the deep heritage of the local community.

Next, continue to Wat Choti Thayakaram, an important temple in the Damnoen Saduak community. The temple is home to the sacred Luang Pho Lop Buri Rames, a Buddha statue in the Subduing Mara posture created in the Lop Buri-period art style, which has long been deeply respected by local people. Visitors often stop by to pray and make wishes. It is believed that those who come here with sincere faith will have their wishes granted and leave with their wishes fulfilled.
